Sexting Argumentative Essay

A young girl sent her ex-boyfriend a “sexting photo” who he then forward it to several other juvenile friends. I think this is wrong because he and herself is violating her body, and not also that but both can get in trouble with the law. According to dosomething.org “70% of boys and girls who sent do so with their girlfriend, 61% of all sextets who sent nude images admit that they were pressured to do it at least once. This says a lot about how the social media can be a dangerous place and it’s a source of peer pressure. According to the U.S sexting laws and regulations it states “A teen who receives a sexual imagine can be charged with possession and if they send the picture to anyone else they are looking at distribution charge of caught”.

Sometimes they are nothing more than consensual teen experimentation, and she argues that this should not be considered illegal. However, she also mentions some more serious cases that have raised concerns about sexting in general. Rosin states that "Michael Harmony, the commander of the southern-Virginia branch of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force... has dealt with a 13-year-old who posted her naked picture on MeetMe.com and had grown men show up at her house. He’s investigated a 17-year-old boy who blackmailed a girl into sending him naked pictures, and another boy who threatened to send out the naked pictures a girl had given him if she didn’t have sex with him. " Cases like these go beyond regular teen sexting, and support the reasoning behind some states' reluctance to passing any sexting-specific laws at all, not wanting to risk being lenient on child…

An offensive rebound and put-back attempt by ETBU’s Junior Mitchell led the visiting Tigers to a 56-54 win over LeTourneau University on Saturday in Longview. The YellowJackets (9-13, 6-7 ASC) had forced a desperation 3-point attempt by Dylan Augustine with the shot clock winding down before an alert Mitchell came in from the perimeter for the game-winning, put-back attempt with seven seconds to go. LeTourneau called a timeout and looked to set up a play to send the contest overtime. However, the YellowJackets were unable to get off a shot. “Both teams defended at a high level and they made one more play then we did,” said LETU head coach Dan Miller.…

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, sexting is defined as “the sending of sexually explicit messages or images by cell phone.” After reading about sexting and several cases in our textbook, in my opinion I think there are some flaws to this law. Although it is obvious that sexting can lead to consequence to those who become victims it seems like it should only be applied to certain things and not everything. For example, the female juveniles who took nude photos of themselves, and sent them to three boys should not face felony criminal charges. Based on the minimal facts given in the textbook, it does not make sense to charge someone who took nude photographs of themselves with child pornography because they are under 18 and in addition…

Winnit wanted to put up a statue to show his religion, but he put it right in front of another religious statue. Official take it down thus making Winnit mad, so he files a lawsuit demanding to put it back up. The District court ruled in favor of the officials saying that it wasn’t a violation of freedom of exercise of religion, and if the troll was kept would act as government speech, which is a violation of the First Amendment. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed with both the District and eventually the Supreme Court. I have a dissenting opinion with the majority with the Supreme Court.…

Since the beginning of time, achieving success has always been a group effort. Whether it be building the Pyramids or the White House, nothing over the course of history has ever been completed by one person alone. There is always help, whether it be in the form of someone acting on another individual's behalf or supporting someone by sharing advice or lending an encouraging word. Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer is a work that reveals the tendency of people to fail at helping and supporting unique or unordinary individuals find a way to fit into a materialistic society that seemingly contradicts everything they stand for. It is through analyzing the reasons why Chris McCandless goes into the wild that we see the importance of having a support group and finding people to hold yourself accountable to.…

Boys beware is a short film that illustrates how homosexuals prey upon young boys and display them as sexual predators. This video is not effective for the intended contemporary audience because homosexuals are seen in a different sense of light in the new generation. This film gave false accusations about homosexuals, and portraits them as the villains in our society. Our society is filled with straight child predators, and how children are raped but that is not even reflected upon this short film. When reflecting upon the film Boys Beware, it was rhetorically ineffective because the intended contemporary audience is given false information about homosexuals, and how the film is biased towards homosexuality.…
