Social media should not focus on how women look, but rather appreciate women for their uniqueness and how they make the world a better place. In our generation as well as many others, the desire to be the best reaches a new and expensive level. Women and young teens spend thousands of dollars on makeup just so that other people find them attractive. Many women compare themselves to others and they still have a negative body image. For example, I once had a friend who told me that the only possible way for a guy to think I was pretty is to dress nicely and wear makeup to school. I didn’t quite understand where she was coming from but I suddenly felt like I had the urge to wear expensive makeup and tight fitting clothes just so I would stand out and the other boys would notice me. Even in the famous animated film Cinderella, she was shown to have felt more powerful when her godmother cast a spell where she turned into this magnificent princess. The prince never noticed Cinderella when she was dressed in her rags and no makeup but he did right after she went to the ball looking like a new person. This scene in the movie portrays the concept that men and younger boys will only give girls attention if they wear makeup and dress well.
