“Sex trafficking is a form of modern slavery that exists throughout the United States and globally.” This world today is filled with people who sex traffic young and older girls. In most cases girls are forced into slavery. They can be bought and sold throughout the United States. Victims of sex trafficking can be citizens, foreign countries, women, men, children. Sex traffickers usually target people who are more vulnerable. Such as runaway and homeless children, as well as victims of domestic violence, sexual assault.

Many victims become involved with someone who then forces them into prostitution.

Others are lured in the promises of jobs, things they are mostly interested in. Sex traffickers will do anything to get you to do what they want. Such as shower you with gifts, going out, even bring in a relationship with them. A trafficker use social media sites to recruit teenagers and forces them into prostitution. Some say since 2007 there have been fourteen thousand five hundred and eighty-eight sex trafficking cases received on the national human trafficking resource center hotline.

People who buy victims of sex trafficking can be anyone. Students, rich and wealthy people, teachers, police officers etc. Buyer usually pays with cash and may communicate with the victim for a minute or two. There’s no way of tracking down these buyers.
