The specialized caseload model seems like a great improvement over the conventional model. THese caseloads are able to give special supervision to offenders with substance abuse issues, sex offenders, mental health, and offenders with disabilities (Barton & Hansen, 2012). Why do you think it did not show results in the study (Guydish, et al., 2008)? Do you think better results would have been shown with a different population (ex. Males, mental health cases, sex offenders, gang members)? There seems to be great benefits that these offenders receive getting specialized help from trained probation officers.
