Many parents deny that their children having sex and complain about a school district teaching their children about sex. Some parents try to ignore their children’s question about sex. How in the world do parents say “It’s ok” for schools to teach their children about math, chemistry, science, physics, history, and numerous other subjects, yet then get high and mighty with righteous indignation when biology is taken a step further to focus on sex. According to the American Sexual Health Association, there is one in five America teenagers have a STD. Besides that, the highest rate of HIV is young people between the ages of fifteen and twenty five. Why are young people suffering because no one wants to teach them about the consequences of partaking in sexual behavior? What is sex education? Sex education is a process that begins when a person is born and continues until the day he/she dies. It is a process of building a strong foundation for sexual health. Sex education, it is also known as sexuality education or sex and relationship education. In this class, students can learn about the beliefs and forming attitudes about sex. Sex education also can develop student’s skills so that they make informed choices about their behavior, and feel confident and competent about acting on these choices. Sex education class does not teach student know about sex only, this class aims to decrease the risks of potentially negative outcomes from sexual behavior like…
