According to Sieg Ellen, who writes the journal “Women’s Studies International Forum”, states that “common public opinion and media presentations often state that young women in the 21st century enjoy a freedom and level of empowerment” (“Sieg” para. 7). Sieg mentioned that the public believe women had already know how to empower in their relationship. However, the case picked by Greg above does not approve the fact that there are still some women stuck in the unhealthy relationship. Since two authors assume the main audience would be women and their sexual orientation is heterosexuality, and then Greg gives feedbacks based on his previous experience and a woman’s unsure situation and Liz provides a deeper explanation and collects what Greg mentions early in the chapter on a woman’s perspective. I personally really like this book since some excuses are easy to meet during relationship and this give me better understanding about being in a relationship. I saw some bad reviews about this book when I purchased this book online. Some people think that this book talks just about the tip of an iceberg. However, I believe what Greg and Liz try to talk about of this book is something look like relationship but way more beyond it. That is to inform women that they need to be independent, wise and resourceful so that achieving gender equity. Throughout the semester, I learnt a lot about women from 1950’s, and there are some models of women who are elegant, wise and eager for what they want to do for their lives, Vanessa Williams for instance. I believe the most important thing for women is, they should step their first step to learn that they are strong and beautiful so that they could
