The sanitary sewer system is the part of the utility infrastructure that carries wastewater from individual properties and businesses and delivers it to sewer treatment plants throughout cities, towns, and municipalities all over the world. Home owners and businesses have to maintain the integrity of their infrastructure to avoid issues. Inspection of this infrastructure is a vital operation. Cities, towns, and municipalities have an obligation to the people and are governed by the state to maintain a structurally sound sewage infrastructure. If inspection work is not done internally then often times the work is hired out to a plumber or contractors in their area. If fees continue to rise and they see a need to do the inspection work internally then decisions are made to acquire pipe inspection equipment

Being able to track and store the reports and videos allows the set-up of a regular maintenance schedule in regards to sewer inspection. Record keeping of sewer maintenance, inspections and repairs meets several needs of the sewer system. Records help simplify and improve work planning and scheduling, including integrating recurring and on-demand work. Measuring and tracking of workforce productivity and developing unit costs for various activities are a few of the record keeping benefits. Records of sewer maintenance, service line maintenance, and sewer main and service line repairs should be kept and maintained. You would not go to the hospital for surgery unless you had tests performed to identify exactly what the problem is. The same holds true for your sewers. You should not excavate your sewer lines unless you know precisely what the problem is. Fortunately, a sewer video inspection can identify whether you have a sewer problem, and what that problem is.
