Severus Snape is a complicated and well written character in the Harry Potter series but contrary to popular opinion he is not some valiant hero nor is he the persecuted martyr that the a majority of the fandom perceives him to be it is quite clear when you look at the bigger picture that Snape is actually a petty bully with deplorable morals who does not deserve Albus Potters middle name

during his teen years at Hogwarts young Snape lusted after his childhood friend Lily Evans Snape tried to convince her of his greatness but she continuously made it clear that she only wanted to be his friend of course that didn’t sit well with Snape so he proceeded to woo her by a different tactic making racist slurs about her muggle born blood status delving in the dark arts befriending pure blood supremacists and joining their Death Eaters club known for wanting to kill muggle borns this is …show more content…
then Lily found love with James Potter and the two started a happy family together with their newborn son Harry in response to this decision Snape channeled his grief into furthering his commitment to You Know Who and fascination with the Dark Arts it was only when Lily’s life was threatened that Snape switched his loyalties to Dumbledore and company still he continued to associate himself with the Death Eaters in order to assure Lilys safety when the Dark Lord went to go murder a child Snape had absolutely no qualms about James life or innocent baby Harry once James realized his family was in true danger he didn’t hesitate to throw himself in front of Voldemort one of the worlds most powerful wizards in an attempt to save his family Lily acted likewise when Voldemort went to kill Harry knowing that Lily sacrificed herself for her son you would think Snape allegedly so in love with her would at least be decent to that orphaned child rather than making his already wretched life even more so but this is a selfish man so why should he even attempt at being a decent human being strike
