Burns have been considered the most common injury to happen in the household, and children seem to be the biggest victim of these injuries. Burns cause skin damage, which leads to the burned skins cells to die. Most of the time a person can recover from a burn without any complications, given this also depends on the severity of the burn itself. But there are the more serious burns that do require medical attention, and even with medical attention the people who suffer from severe burns can be forced to live with medical complications and scare left on their bodies, and some even suffer the fate of death. Burns can be broken down into 3 different degrees. Each level is derived from the severity of the burn itself and how deep it goes into the skin. A first degree burn will mainly turn the skin a bright red without any blister appearing on the surface. An example of a first degree burn would include a basic sunburn. Next is a second degree burn, these burns are a more serious as in the can develop blisters and crating thickening of the affected skin. Next is the third degree burn. This burn will also make the skin extremely red and cause it to blister. Since these burns create blisters it is important to stay hydrated and keep them covered and wrapped up to prevent infection. The blisters may pop which can lead to infection. These burns also take longer to heal; it usually will take 2 to 3 week for these burns to heal. After healing there should be no scaring but the skin may change as far as pigment is concerned. The blisters the burn creates can also affect the healing time for these burns, and even in worse cases skin grafts are used to replace the burned
