In the story, seventh grade by Gary Soto the protagonist,Victor tries to win over his crush Teresa. At beginning of the story, Victor is confident that Teresa will be his girlfriend .During this part of the story, Victor is overconfident in himself because of Victor then as trouble with addressing her. When Victor attempts to impress Teresa, he lies by saying that he knows french.Although his french teacher does not tell anyone that he lied Victor still feels ashamed.He ends up having to study after Teresa asks him to tutor her.Victor had a bittersweet feeling,although he got Teresa he still lied. Victor is a dynamic character because he grows from being shy to more outgoing.
