Seventh Birthday Research Paper

I remember the excitement over me as I sat anxiously on my seventh birthday waiting to peel open the presents that sat in front of me. My heart raced as I freed the last gift from its paper cover to find a gray Nintendo game boy, although already a dated piece of technology at the time, this gift was particularly special to me as it was a hammy down from my uncle and also the first gaming system that I owned. I was captivated by it and spent most of my days playing old games like Zelda or Scooby doo, but my captivation came more from the magic box that fit conveniently in my hands than the games on it. Since that day, ten years ago, I have been enthralled by technology and how it works, and as I grew I would constantly break down any piece

In “The Veldt”, by Ray Bradbury, I believe that the parents are at fault for their own deaths because they should've been more responsible on limiting the kids time on electronics. In the beginning of the story, when the parents bought the house, the parents didn’t set limits on the children's technology. If they did, the children's wouldn't get so hooked onto technology because they would’ve remembered the consequences of doing too much technology set by their parents. Since the parents didn't set a limit on electronics, the kids didn't think there was a limit and they thought they could just play all they wanted.…

While most kids were outside playing in the mud and dirt, I was sitting inside on a couch, comfortable, clean, and happy to do so. As a child, I detested the idea of getting my clothes dirty. I loved to be able to maintain the pristine cleanliness of my outfit, so I often refused to play outside. Instead, I resorted to a crimson red Gameboy SP with a blazing LED screen, almost too big for my hands, for my childhood action. I’d live out intense fantasies in that three inch square.…

It’s safe to say my parents are sick of watching Star Wars Episode II: The Clone Wars. Our family tradition of Saturday movie night is led by my brother and I, each choosing the designated movie every other week, usually that one. We would play the film on a computer while eating ice cream kept cold by the freezer in our house and previously Safeway. Two hours later, my brother and I would trudge off to bed and turn on the AC in the summer or the heater in the winter. Everything that I did, touched, and saw was linked to technology, especially growing up in the 2000’s when the digital age was picking up.…

Ever since I can remember video games have always been my escape. On my ninth birthday I received my xbox 360 and since that day I have never look back. With my xbox I have made memories and friendships that will last life a life time. Although some believe things in life are either good or bad, it can be seen through Xbox that things are both good and bad, but it’s the proportion between good and bad that matters, this can be seen through new games, finishing games, and new systems that proves that a disproportionate amount of good versus bad creates good memories. With the Xbox there were many games that I have played that have taken me on hundreds of adventures.…

Children today seem to take to computers, phones, and other electronics without any hesitation. Today 's toys can make noise, movements, and light up like never before and sometimes without any human manipulation. The toys for these children and the adults they may become, I feel, is a benefit for them and future generations to become more mechanical and observant. These toys and games seem to help children and adults learn faster and more efficient, while promoting deep personal skills. What may not be beneficial, is the reverse effect of adults becoming complacent and lazy and unable to have a direct connection with other human beings in communication and in play.…

If Nintendo made Smartphones When Nintendo announced their intent to move into smartphone gaming earlier this year, the internet was abuzz with gamers pontificating on their pros and cons of the company's decision to branch out beyond their own home consoles for the first time. Many saw the move as minor sacrilege, whilst others were more optimistic about the concept of playing more convenient, pick-up-and-play Zelda and Mario games on the tube. What nobody seemed to be doing, however, was thinking about the more exciting possibility; that if Nintendo were willing to develop games for smartphones, they might also be looking at producing a mobile phone/gaming device of their very own! Enter artist Pierre Cerveau and the “Smart Boy.” Pierre Cerveau has not only dreamt up what a Nintendo phone might look like, but has gone to the trouble of knocking up some seriously impressive concept art for it…
