Seven Samurai Analysis

Before ever stepping foot on the village soil, the samurai display many bushido virtues. The seven samurai decide to take on such an unrewarding task, even to the farmers surprise as all they can offer is a warm bed and rice. Each ronin accept the terms on a more honor basis rather than any other virtue. As the seven samurai arrive, led by Kambei, the farmers are nowhere to be seen, hiding away in their shelters resulting in great confusion throughout the seven samurai as Heihachi states “A real welcome, I’d say”(57). A point at which could have been so devastating for the farmers as the samurai were questioning their decision to provide aid, was overturned by Kikuchiyo’s rather unexpected act. Sires suddenly rang throughout the village alarming the famers that the bandits were coming as they ran from their homes looking for protection towards the seven samurai. …show more content…

This was the breaking point between the seven samurai, becoming a team, in addition gaining the farmers trust. The relationships grew stronger between the framers and the seven samurai as the bushido virtues of honesty and loyalty begins to show. The seven samurai as a group hold not only a unique set of skills, while also owning a unique personality trait of treating one another like family. Tensions emerge within the village at first between the farmers and the Samurai as they clash, however they are soon standing shoulder to shoulder as the two social classes unite to achieve their one goal, defeat the bandits.
