Seven Habits Profile

Improved Essays
The highest ranked category in the Seven Habits Profile was identified as think win-win. I value the three character traits identified in this habit and strive to incorporate them into my everyday leadership style (Covey, 1989). The first trait, integrity, is reflective in having a strong moral code. As a leader, I have been faced with difficult decisions where solutions are guided by my values. I have self-reported my mistakes because it is the right thing to do. I have grown in the aspect of maturity, the second trait, as I have become more confident in my ideas. My ideas do not always need to be at the forefront, rather learning from others has helped me grow as well. Finally, I demonstrate the third trait of abundance mentality by encouraging my team members to present to other leaders and grow in their own profession.

Again, this habit supports the first two identified above in that I believe in listening to others and hearing their ideas. I work on this area consistently as a leader developing a team. It is easiest for me to make all of the decisions for my team quickly, however I work on giving others a chance to offer their solution so that they can hone their skills as well.
One of the most successful pieces of my leadership style is the ability to synergize, the next habit on my profile. Synergize is the habit that relates to teamwork and working in cooperation. I lead teams by making sure everyone feels the need and ability to provide input on the task at hand. Leading a team is not just the opportunity to express my opinion.
