In my past career, I did not have a strong balance between my work and personal life. I spent 3 years seeking out a healthier career where I could leverage my skills working in college admissions, into an academic role at another University. During this change in employment, I realized how important it is for me to take care of my physical and emotional health, build relationships with people, and reflect on enjoyable things in life. When I start a new task that I am excited about, I tend to dive in head first, and become obsessed with it. Sometimes I have a hard time finding balance with work and family life in this instance. I tend to have a tunnel vision approach, where I keep working towards my goal until it is accomplished. This can have a negative impact on my family. Ironically enough, I also struggle with Put First Things First category of procrastination and time wasters. I believe that if I were more proactive about planning for my goals, I would not have to take on such an unhealthy, laser-focused approach in the end. This would lead to a better balance between my work and personal
