“Seven Gifts” Quotation and Expansion, Reflection, Analysis, Application, Etc. Bloom’s Question:
Discussion Topic:
Intentionality Quotation: ‘Short and Short found a significant relationship between the teacher’s deliberate actions and students’ on-task behaviors.”
Analysis: I agree that intentionality has a direct relationship to student behavior. In my preparation for class I deliberately write down areas in where I need to probe for questions, provide extra assistance for students in need, and engage in special activities that may relate to the subject. Intentionality is about having a purpose and doing thing deliberately. All of my classes are about 20% instruction and 80% hands on work. Intentionality for me means

Your choices determine your consequences.” I preach responsibility in my class. I make sure that my students know that they are responsible for their own actions, their work, their attitudes and their choices. Everything they do presents an opportunity for a reward or for learning. Understanding Question: From a student’s prospective, explain how modeling responsibility builds trust?

Courage Quotation: “For the classroom teacher, this means that the way to be inviting is to act inviting. If an invitation is extended, there is no guarantee it will be accepted, no matter how well intended or carefully

One of my favorite quotes of all time is, “fake it, till you make it.” If you don’t show passion for what you teach then you students won’t like it either. When I think back on all of my past teachers and professors, the ones I enjoyed the most and learned the most from, were the ones that looked like they were having the most fun. No one wants to sit and listen to a lecture for 20+ minutes if the person talking is simply reading from notes with no enthusiasm. We want to learn from someone that is alive. We all know teachers that look miserable teaching and their students can feel it. In sports it is often said that a team takes on the personality of their coach, the same can be said for a classroom. Discussion Topic: Write down a topic in your curriculum that you find miserable to teach. Develop a plan that will make that topic more interesting for you so that you can make it more interesting for your

In chapter 6, Making and Taking Worthy Notes, it talks about how good notetaking can contribute to the success of the student. In the beginning of the chapter, a scenario is presented to us in a pottery classroom. The pottery classroom teacher, Mr. Michaels, knew that he would be able to help the students succeed in learning the vocabulary “through his focused lectures and their notetaking” (Fisher, 97). Not only will the student be successful in his class, but they can also take those skills and apply it to the rest of their classes of the day.…

When we are young and commit mistakes, it is easy to blame on parents, teachers, or siblings in order to mentally make ourselves feel better about our own fault. In college, I will not be able to blame anybody for missing registration to classes, or missing an important deadline. Taking full responsibility for my actions will give me a hard time in my college career, since I have never been completely by myself. However, without a doubt, acting responsibly is the quality that gives meaning to our lives and allows us to develop personality, establish profound relationships, and get an advantage in the labor market. Additionally, the only way to overcome the fear of taking responsibility of myself is to start realizing that things will change…

From the age of two, children are put into the school system, where they will remain for a quarter of their lives. Schools become a safe place for students where no matter what is going on at home or in their community, they know that when they go to school they are safe. The idea that teachers provide a positive, safe environment for children despite what is going on at home is prevalent in Lynda Barry’s, “The Sanctuary of School.” She mentions the positive effects on students, as their teacher’s involvement is important to ensuring their learning process runs smoothly in the classroom, despite what is happening outside of it. I agree with Lynda Barry’s stance stating teachers become a mentor for students, but I believe she overlooks the negatives…

In his work ( Existentialism is Humanism), Sartre, one of the most influential figures in western philosophy emphasis free will and work from every aspect to prove the absolute freedom of decision of a human beings. Perhaps Sartre was influenced by the historical events of his time, or, perhaps he was defending existentialism as a philosophical perspective. But what matters is that in the end, Sartre puts freedom of choice first and last. To demonstrate or to prove per se this freedom of choice and decision, Sartre utilizes ethos, pathos and logos by using personal stories, using inductive reasoning and employing several analogies.…
