Sevcon Acquires Battery Manufacturer Bassi
Just recently, Sevcon has purchased EV battery manufacturer, Bassi, whose product line comprises fast charging batteries appropriate for an array of markets, such as rapid, high voltage and high power segments.
Bassi is also an expert in designing and manufacturing power management and uninterrupted power source (UPS) systems for medical, industrial and telecom applications, as well as electronic instrumentation for battery laboratories.
Last year, the company successfully generated approximately US$16m in annual sales. The purchase is anticipated to be quickly accretive to Sevcon’s earnings in the first year of combined operations, which excludes transition costs.
