The Sesame Street video and The Gift of the Magi are very similar. Yet they also have many differences. The Gift of the Magi is about two people that sacrifice their most loved items to get something to go with the other person's sacrificed thing. The Sesame Street video was a version of the same thing. Some similarities between the two are the characters, the irony, and the setting. The characters are similar because in The Gift of the Magi and the Sesame Street video both characters liked each other and wanted to get each other christmas gifts. The irony is similar because in both The Gift of the Magi and the video because they both sacrifice their most beloved things to get something to go with the other person's sacrificed item. The characters are different because in The Gift of the Magi they are people, and in the Sesame Street video the characters are puppets with one human. The praised items are different because in the Sesame Street video they were a rubber duck and a paperclip collection, while in The Gift of the Magi the beloved things were hair and a watch. The ending was different because they didn't get their beloved stuff back in The Gift of the Magi, but they did in Sesame Street.
