With all the technology we now have human suffering is more apparent than ever. The realities of poverty, victimization, and violence are everywhere you look. The worst part is most, if not all, human suffering is caused by humans. We now have to take on the responsibility of minimizing the human suffering we have caused.
There are 3 types of human suffering. The first being poverty. There are more people living in poverty today than there ever has been. As we advance technologically the human family as a whole seems to be growing poorer. Like they said in “Religion- why bother?” no human being should be deprived of the basic necessities of living a healthy life. It was very uplifting. The plaza is committed to helping patients get healthy and be the best they can be. This is an example of helping against victimization because sometimes elderly people start to get oppressed because of their age or mental health. Sinai is helping to prevent that and show that someone cares. Aside from what insurance covers Sinai plaza has a foundation that provides for the plaza so if a patient can’t afford to be there they can get help. This is a good example of helping the poor, a big aspect of human suffering. My favorite observation during my time at the center was of a lady I played dominos with who had a visit from her pastor once a week just to talk with her and keep her company. I feel this is a really good example of religions response to human suffering. Although it seems like something small that would not make a difference in the long run it makes her feel important and loved and not isolated like so many elderly and sick people feel

It is in this light that I have come to realize how true poverty and suffering affect one’s values and perceptions of the world around. I understand that those who are oppressed – who realize their unfortunate, but still hopeful position in life – are also those who are most likely to actively pursue truth and justice in their lives and to be enlightened by this…

Poverty affects those in society and brings them to be broke, so they cannot gain equal justice as those of rich, who are being helped. In Shaila Dewan explanation, she claims that, “Using the Equal Protection Clause to argue that the poor cannot be detained for mere wan of money if a wealth person in a similar situation would go free.” Abusing those who are broke can only break them into depression that will hinder them in the future towards the world. This leads to multiple homeless individuals with low income and low self-esteem, fighting poverty and being judged by the outside world. Poor people need to have a voice and realize they can become something. A rich person is not able to speak out for one in poverty because they do not understand what they are going through. It is the poor’s job to speak for the “’insignificant’ and oppressed”. We should become friends with the poor and the poor should become friends with each other to promote equality. When there is no friendship, there is no…

Suffering, as defined in the dictionary, is “the state of undergoing pain, distress, or hardship.” It involves an experience of unpleasantness and a significant amount of pain. More often than not, we associate suffering with evil (although they are distinct) due to our belief that committing transgressions will possibly have unpleasant consequences that are in line with these wrongdoings. However, suffering is not only limited to those have a high tendency to tolerate evil. People who have the predisposition to do good and shun evil also suffer.…

There are few similarities between religions unless they fall within alike category. Such as the Abrahamic faiths, Islamic, Judaism, Christianity, they each believe in one, true, and only God. Each faith has prophets, similar customs, and doctrines to attain salvation. While Eastern faiths, such as Dao de Jing or Buddhism, there are no prophets and a focus on gaining wisdom. Yet, there wouldn’t be much correspondences between an Abrahamic faith and Eastern Philosophy, unless one takes out a crucial aspect of either one.…

It is better for a few to suffer greatly in order for the majority to prosper than it is for all to suffer an equal amount. If every single person suffers the same amount then no one will be able to enjoy life. Also if everyone suffers the same amount no one would know what things could hurt or even kill us. Parents wouldn’t have to worry about their children suffering as they grew up if a few suffered for the majority to prosper. Their children could have a good life and wouldn’t have to worry about evil things happening.…

When I think of a christen Moral life one of the first things that come to mind is the Bible. I would go on to say the morality of a true Christian would necessarily come from the Bible. It declares what is right and what is wrong for man in God's sight. The Scriptures indicate that when a person has been forgiven their sins, by trusting in Christ as the one who paid for those sins by dying on the Cross, that they will have a new life. This new life, as a Christian, is to be different from the common thinking of the sinful world, putting aside the former ways of life.…

The war on poverty has become a war on the poor. That is waged in the name of God, in alliance with those who claim to honor God, is blasphemy” (Dyson 2007, p. 200). In our society, there is a great value placed on success and hard work and it is often looked down upon when one has not succeeded and many believe it comes from not putting in the effort. It is becoming popular to blanket blame the poor for their misfortune and to shame them by withholding help from them. The government was reluctant to help the underprivileged in the Katrina crisis and many used the excuse that they were there because they chose to not leave and was even justified by using religion.…

Suffering is in the world all around us, it is a fact of life (2) and it can teach us many things that help us to become better human beings. People often blame God for all of the pain and tragedy in the world; if we are going to learn from suffering and allow it to teach us about the world whilst remaining faithful to God, we must understand that God created a good world and good human beings, His creation has been infected by the introduction of sin, which resulted in the creation of evil and suffering (4). Man was given the option to accept or reject God, Man chose to reject and that is what has caused him to sin and therefore create suffering (5). Part of learning about the world is understanding that people are not perfect, we learn this…
