The experience I encountered during the service learning project was great. Throughout the weeks allocated for the service learning project, I tutored grade two and grade three students from three different schools under two agencies. The names of the agencies are Lion Catcher and MLK Community Center. The project gave me the opportunity to work with little kids for a long time. This also gives me the privilege to help me to work with people who are eager to work and vice versa. The purpose at which the service learning project was assigned to us was fulfilled. Secondly, I made me think of spending more hours in volunteering which may not be tutoring only, but doing other things like help cleaning, or basically helping at the IU Student Outreach Clinic. While volunteering, I make sure I used the communication skills I was taught in class skillfully to have effective communication. Lastly, it made me think of communicating effectively and clearly to bring better results or improvement in the lives of people I work with or converse with. Now, I know communication does a lot of things. Communication alone is a healing method because once a person speaks softly to an individual in need; it calms the person and suits his or her
