Servant Leadership Theory Paper

I have identified three strengths related to servant leadership theory. The first strength is selflessness. It relates to the servant leadership theory because a selfless leader takes care of those they are leading before themselves (Daft, 2014). For example, I have always made sure that others were taken care of before myself with lunch breaks and scheduling of time off and vacations. My staff, my patients and doctors have always come before myself.
The second strength is ethics. It relates to servant leadership theory because ethics is the basis of service. Being ethical is serving with goodness and truth in your heart (Jaramillo, Bande, & Varela, 2015). I truly want to take care of my staff, my patients and doctors. I am always honest with them, even when it might be difficult.

Evaluate at least three weaknesses you demonstrate as a leader
I have identified three weaknesses. The first weakness is giving too much of myself, my time and my resources. It relates to the servant leadership theory because as a servant leader you are a giver (Parris, Peachy, 2012). However, you have to know when to stop giving. There is giving of your time and talents, and there is giving of your products and profits. Either one can hurt in business. As a leader my goal is to keep my customers happy. If my customers are happy then everything should be happy. It is a fine difficult line not to be crossed.
The second weakness is conflict avoidance at all costs. It relates to the servant leadership theory because as a leader there will always be conflicts to deal with (Daft, 2014). While serving people there are even conflicts, as you can’t keep everyone happy all of the time. For example: trying to schedule your staff the hours they need, and the time they want off, and still cover the schedule that needs to be covered. This is something that has to be dealt with and
