A servant leader will encourage their employees to continue to grow, to develop as a person and a professional. Before this book, I was not sure what makes a great leader. After reading The Servant, it has given me a little bit of insight what it could take to be a great leader, and I am not sure that I have all of those qualities. To me, I think it takes a little more than what The Servant has to offer for leadership, but the author does make a few great points. Like being humble, kind, forgiving and encouraging were a few personal favorites of mine. The Servant has given me ideas on how to be a better leader and employee. It has made me realize to not look for something out of everyday transactions, to forgive others and to try to keep my cool and not be judgmental in certain situations. I have now realized that to be a great leader, it is better to have those follow you with their own free will rather than just doing what they are
