A US subsidiary of Dr Reddy's laboratory, Promius Pharma, has obtained the US FDA approval for a prescription spray for psoriasis. The spray named Sernivo is an external application and contains 0.05% betamethasone dipropionate. It can be used by patients over 18 years of age.
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease and a complex inflammatory skin disorder in which skin cells begin to multiply rapidly and form lesions that are red, itchy and patchy. The skin may become dry or cracked and may bleed. Psoriasis is extremely difficult to treat.
