Through the events in the Serial podcast, Adnan was convicted of murder. Although there was no evidence of him murdering Hae, Adnan was pleaded guilty. His dis-honesty throughout the podcast made people to believe it was actually him who had killed her. Adnan’s conflict with himself teaches the reader that you should always be honest through hard times, after Adnan was convicted it was obvious due to his lack of remembrance and his race, why they would frame him during this certain time.

The fear of Islamophobia has been around for decades. The series of events that have taken place in our country have led people to believe all Muslims must face some sort of consequences. During the Serial podcast, I mostly believe that Adnan’s beliefs and dishonesty is why he was convicted. Adnan was pleaded guilty without evidence on his case making me to believe it was just an excuse to frame someone who was Muslim. “Here is the jurisdiction in America that

For some reason I still can't seem to figure this out, but he decided to basically in a sense turn himself in. It never added up to me why he would do this when he didn't murder Hae in the first place. Without any evidence nothing could have been proved saying he had did it, but again because he is Muslim, I think society labeled him automatically as the murderer of this case.
Although nothing was ever final throughout the podcast, I think it is clear that Adnan shouldn't have been proven guilty during trial. Society as a whole is very judgmental, and I honestly feel because of Adnan’s beliefs and dishonesty, it truly had something to do with his conviction. Islamophobia is something America has struggled with for years, and it certainly is never going to stop. If Adnan wasn't Muslim and could have been a little more truthful during this case, I feel as if the Serial podcast would be something totally different than what it is

I firmly believe that Adnan Syed is innocent for the following reasons. The first reason Adnan Syed must be innocent is because he did not have a motive to kill Hae. Some may say it was jealousy since Hae had dated another guy after they broke-up, named Don. Although Adnan showed some despair, Asia, a witness that saw Adnan at the library around…

Following the September 11 attack, this became an unthinkable event as Lean discusses. He has elaborated on the increase of violence towards Muslims such as assaults, murders and verbal assault. Lean suggests that the response to the terrorist attack since 9/11 has caused Islamophobia, a fear and suspicion of all Muslims. Importantly he has discussed that the anti-Muslim prejudice is institutionalized at the state level, as well.…

As in the world today, prejudice has gotten more racist and more racist. The article “ The Secret Costs of Islamophobia,” talks about how Muslims are being treated unfairly in America. A normal Muslim-American teenager who goes by the name of Aleena wrote a letter to President Barack Obama about how much she desires to live like a normal citizen and would be happy if people stop judging Muslims and categorize them as a “threat”. Aleena is not the only victim. There are tons of Muslims in America that is offended by this.…

From the video, I agreed with the speaker Dalia Mogahed’s personal comments about how society discriminate towards Muslims. Muslims can also be considered Americans if they live in America and respect others. However, that’s not always the solution since many disrespect Muslims and label them as terrorists. I think that’s very wrong as lots of Muslims are being racially profiled as suspects. I can also disagree against the media since they use propaganda to make Muslims look bad, and make the public afraid towards Muslims.…

    Muslims In America

Muslims in America, many of whom are natural born citizens, often feel as if they are unwelcomed secondary citizens to this “land of freedom,” that they don’t belong among fellow Americans. The lack of education and knowledge surrounding the Muslim culture Islamic religion allow Americans to make false claims regarding the inevitable "acts of terrorism" committed by these groups. The negative rhetoric (often perpetuated by biases in media) does not take into consideration the values of peace, love tolerance and acceptance. People who practice the Islamic faith consist of twenty-three percent of the world 's population. To ascribe the atrocious deeds of a select group of sick and misguided individuals to an entire population of Muslims is both…

Even with all of this in mind, the court sees him as the main suspect and is not dissuaded by his normal persona. They pin him as Hae Min Lee’s killer by using the jealous boyfriend stereotype. It is also bad for his case when there are phone records and accounts of him acting strange on the day of her murder. Jay seems to be the only one that has a story that is sound enough to have Adnan as the main suspect.…

    Essay On Islamophobia

Believe it or not, the uptick in hate crimes against American Muslims after the Paris attacks has little to do with Islamophobia. The US’s obsession with the “other” goes back centuries, even as it morphed into a global melting pot. It is an obsession birthed from the white, Christian heritage of the country’s founding fathers and their occupation as plantation and slave owners. Moreover, those pushing the “clash of civilizations” narrative explain Islamophobia as a gut reaction.…

Should Muslims gain Civil Rights in America? Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "One aspect of the civil rights struggle that receives little attention is the contribution it makes to the whole society" (King Jr. 142). This quote receives little to no attention whatsoever. By giving people, no matter what race or religion, civil rights, it makes the whole society united.…

Although we consider ourselves to be a cultural melting pot, and our constitutional rights give all citizens the comfort of religious freedom; this is largely a theoretical idea rather than the truth. One particularly concerning example is the religion of Islam and the Muslim community face, years of marginalization and stigmatization have contributed to a significant amount of Muslim Americans feeling uncomfortable in their home country. That being said, the typical American’s idea of freedom of religion only extends as far as their comfort level and is primarily based on stereotypical perceptions of the average ‘Muslim’ person, media and other mainstream sources only further misguide our perceptions of what the religion of Islam is actually…

During the past century, the image of Islam has been tarnished, especially in the United States of America. One can argue that this all began with the discovery of oil in the Persian Gulf, imperialism, or simply that this was all in God’s plan. Surely, due to recent extreme events that have impacted Muslims and non-Muslims all around the world, a great misunderstanding of Islam has grown. As a result, Americans have been popularizing the term “Islamophobia” which is essentially a form of racism and is defined as any prejudice, hatred or fear of Muslims or Islam. Over time, this phenomena has become more accepted and sometimes acted upon with violence, meanwhile the American media portrays the extremism of Muslims and their violence in Eastern…

Podcasting Podcasting is something relatively new to technology. It’s humble beginnings finally took off in full force by 2000. Per Ciccarelli, (2016), “in 2001, users Adam Curry and Tristan Louis, aided by UserLand founder and RSS evangelist Dave Winer, added support for a specific enclosure element to Userland 's non-RDF branch of RSS (Real Simple Syndication), and then to its Radio Userland feed-generator and aggregator, establishing the initial development of podcasting. Podcasting is a tool that is set up for audio distribution where files are uploaded. Files can be anything from music to digital images.…
