I think people are fascinated with serial killers because the acts that they have committed are so jarring to society as a whole. To me, serial killers are fascinating because of how so many of them are able to continually keep up a façade in their everyday lives, and then commit acts so heinous at the same time. For example, Ted Bundy was a student at the University of Utah law school by day but would murder and commit necrophilia in Emigration Canyon by night. It is interesting how many of these people are able to go undetected for such long periods of time because of how well they blend in with society, even though there is something wrong with them.
