Throughout the years, murders have occurred more often and are constantly increasing. It is common for murders to occur among individuals who have been in acquaintance with one another. However, this is not true for some murders that occur. Serial killers murder individuals who, most of the time, have no relation with each other. Serial killers are very meticulous, meaning that they plan out every single action and how their attack will work. They stalk their victims for a prolonged time and wait for the right moment to commit the murder. A notable American serial killer is Jeffery Dahmer. He was classified as a hedonistic serial killer, a serial killer who gains pleasure from killing their victims. Jeffery Dahmer also acted like the common …show more content…
His parents were Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. Jeffery Dahmer had a relatively normal childhood until he entered his teenage years. Growing up, Dahmer had a confidence issue and as he grew older this confidence issue worsened. He was insecure about his body and he ultimately became distant from other people. At around the age 14, his parents were undergoing the divorce process which is what led many people claim to assume that this is what led him to murder others. Jeffery Dahmer himself claimed that he had the sudden urge to murder victims and partake in necrophilic activities around this time. Jeffery Dhamer did graduate from high school and attended Ohio State University. Jeffery Dahmer offered Tracy Edwards money to take nude pictures at Dahmer’s house. Dahmer was able to handcuff Edwards by diverting his attention to a fish tank. After Tracy Edwards was fully handcuffed, Dahmer took Edwards to his room and began to take pictures. Edwards was willing to consent to anything Dahmer was going to do as long as he takes off the handcuffs. Dahmer leaned on Edward and whispered to him “I am going to eat your heart.” Edwards and Dahmer later went to the living and Edwards knocked out Dahmer to make a quick escape. Edwards ran until he found police officers, not the same ones from the Konerak incident, and explained the situation to the officers. The officers went to Dahmer’s home and did a thorough investigation. They noted a foul smell in the house as they searched the house. One of the officers went into Dahmer’s room and found many of the nude pictures and pictures of the disassembled bodies. This same officer went through the refrigerator and found multiple body parts. At this moment, Dahmer was arrested and Tracy Edwards survived, later regarded as a hero for ending Dahmer’s evil tyranny, even though he could’ve been captured at an earlier
