Police Officers tend to have a bad reputation with the popular culture for a couple of years, but who are you calling when an issue arises? Police officers are not terrible people there is always that one in the group that tends to ruin the imagery for the rest of the people in that category. The purpose for this textual analysis is to show how perplexing sexual assault can be as in who it involves and affects. Even with all of this in mind, the court sees him as the main suspect and is not dissuaded by his normal persona. They pin him as Hae Min Lee’s killer by using the jealous boyfriend stereotype. It is also bad for his case when there are phone records and accounts of him acting strange on the day of her murder. Jay seems to be the only one that has a story that is sound enough to have Adnan as the main suspect.…

Pod-casts and Hot Topic Michael Britt’s Podcast spoke about the court of public opinion, and how it: seeks expedient closure out of need for simplicity in the presence of chaos; attach negative bias towards those perceived to have characteristics (such as beauty or wealth) that they will no doubt use to their advantage unjustly; employ role theory in terms of attire, and emotional presentation, without having any real insight of, or psychological ability by which to assess the person; nor taking into account other factors (2011). This really speaks to the public need to place their judgement on others, especially if they are alleged to commit a crime, that to them, is deplorable in measure. I would expect this from the parent or immediate…

THE CASE AGAINST RALPH ARMSTRONG In late 2015, Wisconsin’s criminal justice came to the fore of the nation’s public consciousness with the Making a Murderer documentary series. The series detailed the handling of Steven Avery’s murder case in 2007 and how it related to his exoneration in an earlier wrongly convicted rape case in 1985. Both of his cases fell under a heavy cloud of doubt in the veracity of the investigation, the validity of the charges against him and the trial that imprisoned him.…

Virus Podcast Reflection The thing that surprised me the most about this podcast came at the beginning. I knew that discoveries of bacteria and viruses were fairly recent, with viruses being even more recent because normally they are only a fraction of the size. I didn’t realize that up until 2003, viruses were just lumped into this random category that no one really took the time to sort out and try and make any discoveries in. I think that it makes sense though because researchers want to be on the cutting edge…
