The most important thing we have in our relationship is acceptance. I accept him for who he is and he does the same for me. He was my mentor from that first week of school of freshmen year up until now. I figured that I needed someone like him in my life. He has helped me on so many occasions that I can not even keep track. The situation that is the most memorable happened during my freshman year. Towards the middle of the year, on November 3rd, my best friend passed away due to cancer. I was a total wreck and his death completely tore me apart. I was devastated. It was a very difficult time in my life. I was tempted to do something drastic that could have ruined the rest of my life. A lot of people don 't like to talk about death. Most people don 't know what to say when someone dies. Sergeant Major knew what to say. Technically he knew what not to say. He let me do the talking and get it all out. There is something about letting out all of your feelings that makes you feel vulnerable or weak. The program helped stitch me back up. They welcomed me with open arms and the cadets are always there for me. They are like my second
