September 11th Attack Research Paper

That day the planes crashed on United soil was a horrible history changing day that we refer to as September 11th. I was in home room at my high school in Minnesota when my teacher said, "You will never forget where you were this morning while this took place for the rest of your life, you don't understand the impact this just had on our country." as we watch the news on the television. My home room teacher was right, I didn't know the degree of the event happening right in front of me, and to this day I remember. The Islamic extremist killed many of our citizens by this attack and hurt all of our security as this was the first attack on American soil since it was claimed. In security line one of the guards came up and started having a casual conversation with me and my daughters. At the end of the conversations she asks me “how many bags are you traveling with?” I replied, “with several we checked them so I didn’t have to carry them through the airport”. I didn’t think much of the conversation, just a guard watching a line being friendly. Behind me in line I heard some gentlemen talk under his breath to his company saying, “That is one of their new tactics to help find threats by interviewing the line”. Then I thought what a great idea that is with no extra cost to the terminal as they are their standing anyways. If precautions and tactics like this were in place during 9/11 the attack would have had a much greater chance of being brought to the surface. I think about all the lives and families affected by this and just cringe. It is sad that we have to take so many precautions now a day with mass shootings and terrorists attacks being normal news coverage we hear every day. One day I hope human kind will find a way to sort out differences then killing our own race. Till then extra precautions and always looking over our shoulders will have to
