September 11, 2001 was one of the most tragic incidents to ever take place in the United States of America. Four airplanes were hijacked that were used to carry out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. The terrorist group al-Qaeda that were behind this horrifying attack are said to have attacked the freedom of the people of the United States. Which led to President George W. Bush declaring worldwide war on Iraq and Afghanistan known as the “war on terror”. The war on terror drove the Taliban from power, helped Afghans recover from Taliban’s reign of terror, helped form an interim government in Afghanistan that represented everyone- including women and was necessary to disarm Iraq.
