There are two different basic stories about what caused the Rebellion. One side, the Sepoys, say it is because of the animal fat that is used on the bullets. It is against their religion to eat any part of the cow or pork, and so when they heard these rumors they started the Rebellion. The other side of the story is that the Sepoys didn’t want to fight so they made up the animal fat to keep them from fighting. The evidence provided by these documents suggest that the bullets have animal fat on them. Document C was written by somebody who is fighting for the English. He states his growing concern regarding what is used to grease the bullets. He is going to an officer in the army about his worries and the officer tells him not to bring …show more content…
This document is like document C because it says that the rebellion is caused by the bullets being greased with animal fat. Eating any part of the cow and pork fat is against their religion. This matches with document C because they both tell the same story. That story is that the greased bullets are the cause for the Sepoy Rebellion.
Furthermore, there is a consistency between documents A and C. They both state the same thing, that the bullets have animal fat on them. While the other documents written by people who support the fact that there is no animal fat on the bullets. These statements made have no consistency between them. Making these ‘facts’ against the use of animal fat no on the bullets, not to be true. Each reason for the Rebellion that does not have to do with the bullets being greased with animal fat, is not a consistent reason.
