Separation Of Middle School

Improved Essays
I do think it is a good idea to provide a separate school experience for students in grades 6th to 8th. This is a crucial age group where many changes occur physically and emotionally. It is a growing period that is very different from elementary school and high school and therefore needs to be separate. Having middle school as a separate establishment allows for new experiences and help transition them into new responsibilities.

There are many pros to middle school being separate from elementary and high school. One includes bullying that may occur if all age groups are mixed together. Having older children mixed with younger ages may lead to a rise of bullying. Also, having older children, such as high school around middle school may lead

I think that the most common factor to all of these things on my connection circle is bullying. I say that because bullying causes a decrease in kids happiness because if somebody is bullied they can get hurt which can result in sadness or even anger. Another reason why I think that bullying is the most common factor is because if somebody gets bullied that person who was bullied might want revenge for what the bully did which can lead to fights. Finally, the last reason why I think that bullying is the most common factor of all of the things on my connection circle is because bullies might say something very mean which can affect a child's confidence level in himself or herself. All middle and High schools should start the educational day later to allow the adequate amount of sleep for America’s teenage youth. Too many schools across the country begin the day before student minds are awake, alert, and ready to successfully take on the day. Students from the sixth to twelfth grade are currently attending school before their brains have had time to prepare for the day. This makes everything they do, including simple everyday tasks, far more of a challenge than it typically should be. Oftentimes, teenagers, as well as society as a whole, put sleep on the backburner.…

In my opinion, school startings will continue to be a serious problem unless you make middle schools start later. Teenagers tend to have troubles falling asleep at the time there supposed to. They have phones witch tend to make them stay up all night. Teenagers chat with their friends or even watch something on their phone. When teens tend not to get eight to ten hours of sleep it could create huge problems.…

Education is one of the most valued components in society. It was not until the Reconstruction Era after the Civil War that educational reforms began. However, it is concerning that public schools in the 21st century still follow a framework developed in the early 1900s. The current society has drastically changed in their values, culture, and overall modernization in comparison to the society of the early 1900s. According to What Every Middle School Teacher Should Know, by Dave F. Brown and Trudy Knowles, the structure of an average school day was based off the average factory workday.…

When middle school students start school they are tiered, and many people think that is normal and won’t affect their grades, safety, or health. Well that is incorrect, research shows that less sleep a student has equals a negative effect on their health, grades, and safety. Sleep is an important part of a growing “teen”, but itis also an important to learning and to safety, plus Without a good amount of sleep, students grades will drop drastically. For example, if someone is a straight “A” student, and they get tired more and more frequently, their grades could go from “A’s” to “C’s and D's”.…

    Middle School Journey

There are many memories that I have made in middle school. One that I probably will not forget about is when we went to Topeka and Mrs. Simmons, Mrs. Fox, and Mrs. Patterson played a prank on us. We were on our way back home and Mrs. Simmons said “I need to speak with the girls who stayed in room 211 when we get to Dodge City please”. Jessica S, Bekah, Mara, and I looked at each other and we were wondering what they would want to talk to us about? I was thinking that we probably broke something or left something behind, but then I got to thinking and if we did leaving something behind they would have told us, and if we were to have broken something I was pretty sure that you would have already gotten in trouble.…
