I have chosen to be in the Sensorimotor Stage. Which is from 0-2 years old. The Sensorimotor Stage is a stage of intellectual development during which sensory input and motor responses become coordinated. As a newborn I lie in the fetal position or on my back mostly. I can see, hear, smell, taste and respond to pain or touch. I am very responsive to sounds and follow objects I can see objects about a foot away. I am fascinated with human faces. At 1-3 months I can hold my chin up. I cry to get attention. I can hold my chest up. I prefer my mom to anyone else. I am a happy kicking baby.

I am outgoing and adventurous. I now have favorite books, songs, and games. First I walk if led then, by 12 months old I walk all by myself. I can now see as well as an adult. I show problem solving abilities. I respond to words such as no and hi. I enjoy arranging toys by size and color. At 13-15 months old I demand major attention. I have temper tantrums because I don’t get my way. I don’t like sharing anything. I am a loner. I take other kid’s toys. Because I don’t think of them as playmates but, as objects. Piaget’s Theory was based up on a process he called assimilation and accommodation. Assimilation- refers to using existing mental patterns in n new situations. Accommodation- existing ideas are modified to fit new requirements. Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory- is that children s thinking develops through dialogue with more capable persons, Vygotsky believed that children actively seek to discover new principles. Freud’s Theory of psycho-sexual development describes how personality developed over the course of childhood. Freud had two stages that range in the Sensorimotor Stage that I selected. His oral Stage which is from birth to one year old. The infants primary source of interaction occurs through the mouth. Freud’s Anal Stage is from 1-3 years old.
