Senioritis Reflection

I’ve decided to write my reflection about Essay 2 “explaining a concept.” This essay was my best work and I felt like I had fun typing this essay. The concept that I wrote about was “Senioritis.” I liked the idea of talking about something that almost everyone in high school could relate to, including me. This essay made me think about more than just the topic, it made me think about my opinions. For Example, “I think senioritis is real,” some people may think it’s not. I realized that not everything is a fact, your opinion can do with a lot of things. I’ve reflected essay 2 mainly on things that I have learned. The main part of this essay to me is about having your own opinion. For Example, “I think senioritis is real,” some people think it’s a myth. If something is not a fact, then people should speak proud of their opinion no matter what it is. My focus for the concept was how my readers were in high school at some point in their life, it influenced me to think about what their thoughts on “senioritis” was. Maybe some of them had it, maybe some of them did not. My explanation for the concept was put together with some online sources …show more content…
The best advice that I could offer to a student writing a concept paper would be to express your own thoughts. Never take someone else’s ideas and put them into your own words. The best thing someone can do while writing a concept paper would be sharing their own ideas a good amount throughout the paper. When you read an article that was written by a well know author, you will notice how most of the article contains their ideas and not someone else’s. Just because you write someone else’s ideas down in your own words, it’s still considered stealing. When you include your ideas in a paper, always make sure it makes sense and that your ideas are very well explained for other people to understand or relate to

“Shitty First Drafts” by Lammott explains the importance of getting all of your ideas on the paper in the first draft. First, she states you need to be able to tune everyone and everything out, and write on the paper what occupies your mind about that topic. You need to incorporate all of your ideas on the paper, because you may have one good idea that will lead you onto your second draft. Throughout your drafts in the writing process, your work will continue to get better. Your first draft will more than likely always be shitty, for no one else will see it.…

The way I planned my paper was by writing a first draft. I picked a topic and then began to do some research. After finding the research I then started to write, not caring about my grammar or some of the words used. I find this to be the easiest for me to get my paper flowing with ideas and for me to effectively manage my time. My essay topic I chose to write about is argumentative, so I chose a topic that I feel can be debated (Hasa, 2015).…

Reflection Memo of Assignment 1 As I was revising my essay of Assignment 1, I started reviewing the whole process of how I constructed, wrote and revised. I really enjoy the process of deeply unearthing the great memories during my process of English learning, which was unforgettable. It is hard for me to forget how my first English teacher taught me: she was harsher than any teacher I met, but what she taught was invaluable. To be honest, the process of producing such an essay was arduous: as a non-native English writer, it was hard to select accurate words while describing the learning process.…

Senior Project Reflection My best experience of TOHS is participating in class. The worst experience is feeling a bit overwhelmed in class. The presentation is one of the experiences that high school has changed for me. If there is one thing I would change my senior year is the I would be participating in another school club. My advice for the future seniors is to listen to the teachers more carefully.…

I’ve experienced many hardships when dealing with writing assignments, but the worst would have to be my Senior Portfolio. After starting the assignment, I learned very quickly that the assignment was going to be the easy compared to gathering all the information needed about myself. I was required to create multiple different essays that consisted of my post-high school plan and a reflective essay. It seemed easy to write essays on myself, but until I was required to write it all down, I never realized how many experiences contribute into making me who I am today. Even though I find it as the most challenging writing assignment, I also see it as the best learning experience to show who I am and how I plan my future.…

Throughout the semester of English Composition I, I learned any new things. Over the past few months I have learned many new tips on how to create a good paper. Although I gained much knowledge over the past few months I did struggle with a few things such as formulating a written thesis statement expressing my main point in the composition, producing rough drafts preliminary to the final draft, applying transition strategies to organize the entire composition cohesively and coherently, and overall practicing various prewriting strategies, such as thinking, brainstorming, listing, and freewriting.…

Throughout working on this project, I have learned a huge amount of new information that I didn’t think that I would learn. I can honestly say that I am glad that I chose such a broad subject for my senior project because it allowed me to learn all kinds of different things from different aspects of the subject. Through picking what my actual project is about, writing my research paper, to creating a product and to writing this letter now, this project has let me learn new things that I will be able to teach others about. When beginning this project, being a new concept, I was worried that it would be very difficult and stressful. Given the time that we have had, I was able to spread out all the work and get each aspect of the project finished one-by-one in a non stressful manner.…

In high school, my teachers never had me write reflections on any of my work; therefore, I thought it was quite odd that I had to do it for this course. At the start of the semester, I did not see the point in writing reflections and really did not put much effort into them. I started to see the value in writing reflections as the semester progressed. I started to see that reflecting on my work benefits the reader and myself. Reflections allow the reader to see my thoughts on my process and writing; furthermore, reflections allow me to think about problems I encountered and how I worked past them and show my progression as a writer.…

The Final Chapter In order to make a well written and interesting paper, you must first look at and take in all the aspects of good writing and apply them. For starters, the author must be well versed in all his vocabulary, his point well stated, and his paper flowing and impactful. One must know their audience and entertain them whilst also having a well thought out argument that can be ridiculed and still stand on its own. Written pieces must hold a few quintessential values as well, such as; good writing form, well written and clear cut arguments, a flow of words through the paper, and a small amount of catering to their general audience.…
