Senior Year Senior year so far is overwhelming, beyond stressful, and hard work, especially working a full time job as well as being a full time student. A lot of weight is on me this year, and i’m not talking about body weight. I feel like i’m drowning in responsibilities from school, to work, to home. My responsibility at home is to subsidize myself, at school, to make sure i do everything i need to do necessary to graduate, and at home, my family is everything to me, to do my chores, help care for my younger siblings, kupunas, and make my family proud. I’m also in a relationship with the love of my life and time isn’t something i fritter when i have it, every second of my free time i’m with her. My life leaves no room for me to be a lethargic

If the next generation is our future, would that consider a senior in high school to be more valuable than a senior in college in society? The mind is a garden that requires cultivation, and that is why I aspire to attend a liberal arts college. I fervently believe that liberal arts colleges teach people how to think because they require their students to take courses outside of their intended major. I have ventured out of North Carolina three times, two of which I was accompanied by familiar faces, but last October I was awarded a travel scholarship to visit Brandeis University just outside of Boston.…
