I was working so hard on EMT classes, school, and work I just able to function emotionally as well as I needed. All the long hours of life made me stressed, depressed, and exhausted. I was missing days left-and-right because I was too tired and too depressed to function. An average week looked like this. I had early jazz on Monday starting at 7:30, then school until 2:34, then EMT class in Creston until 10 p.m. It’s about an hour drive home from Creston. I would then try to work on a little school work or just sleep. Tuesday was basically the same as Monday but instead of EMT classes I would work from 3:00 through 10:00 after my school day. On Wednesday I would go to school at 8:15 and then after school ended clean my church for an hour and a half. After I cleaned, I would go to youth until about nine or ten at night. Thursday’s were the same as Monday’s, but I didn’t have early jazz and Friday’s were the same as Tuesday’s. When I decided I couldn’t do this on my own, I finally told my mom I needed to see the doctor for my depression. I was diagnosed with “critically low vitamin D”. That was the way the doctor worded it. I then had to take meds and was obligated to see a counselor. The counseling sessions never worked, and I had to switch meds and the dosage many times.
