In addition, flour contains protein which is an important building block of bones, muscles, skin, and blood. Depending on the flour used, it can even contribute flavor. Like flour, high school has given me the basic tools I need to prepare for college. Resourcefulness, responsibility, time management, dedication, and perseverance are some examples of these tools. They are a contributing source of who I am. Since I have used these tools to my advantage, high school has enabled me to be more than just the average student. I have been given the opportunity to take several advanced courses, like dual credit courses and honors classes, which continue to challenge my mind and promote a higher level of thinking that I will need in college. Sugar is available in different varieties: white, brown, powdered, artificial, etc. Regardless of the differences in look and texture, they each add their own original sweetness to a recipe. Choosing a career is like choosing the type of sugar to use in a cake. I don’t want anything that is too sugary or leaves a bad aftertaste in my mouth. I took different personality and skill tests in hope that it would point me in the right direction. After researching my options, I came to the realization that I didn’t want an “easy” career. I wanted something that would challenge me day after day with new problems to solve. I then decided to choose one of the most difficult and competitive careers—becoming a doctor. I took it upon myself to talk with the people I knew in the medical profession about their job. Each person gave me great advice and things to consider when deciding to pursue a medical
