Sports is the base of the noise for many seniors at Osage High. Osage is known for its strong sports programs. Heck! We take a friday off for state wrestling! Sports take a lot out of you physically and mentally. Whether you warm the bench or you are the star basketball player you know very well that sports consume a lot of your time and energy. A single practice may last three hours, and that's not counting the early morning lifts, out of season open gyms, or the long bus rides. On game day your mind is focused on one thing and that's not your composition essay due the next day. As a runner I know that getting enough sleep is essential to perform at your highest level. Getting enough sleep is one of the many things student-athletes struggle with. Students will stay up late studying for a test. They won’t get the enough sleep, which makes them groggy for the next day’s activities. Lack of sleep combined with poor nutrition can increase stress. Not only does it send the student into a truly unhealthy cycle, but it makes the noise in there head seem amplified. Here is a quote from the National Sleep
