In high school, seniors are the ones who rule the school, and is believed that they will be our next line of doctors who will find a cure for cancer or save our planet from global warming. However, this thought process contradicts what induvial have been told throughout years of schooling. At Dalton L. McMichael High School, known to others in the surrounding community as the “Fighting Phoenix” displays the four generations of a Phoenix. The oldest generation, leaves as a senior in high school and sets the course for following Phoenixes to ensure a productive future. By reversing the roles of freshman’s and seniors, it allows the sculpting of knowledge to be handed to the ones that will later become the elder generation with experience and wisdom. The parental Phoenix will grow old and burn up into flames to create ashes, and will reborn into a new phoenix with the same ashes (Conway). Adding the elements from the past to the future, will automatically inherit the knowledge and maturity through the ashes allowing the youngest to build upon an already standing foundation.
