For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

When asking most people about college they will probably say that it was the greatest time in their life where they furthered their career and made friendships that last a lifetime. The part that they do not mention about college is the constant struggle that most college freshmen face on a day to day basis. When starting college everyone is on their best behavior but as the year progresses the can do attitude is crushed by large amounts of homework and late nights cramming for English midterms that get canceled. To be successful in college students have to spend a large amount of time studying outside of the classroom. Most of the studying consists of math problems that can take up to twenty-two hours solving, writing code that doesn’t ever work, or cramming for tests.…

Some days when I don’t have breakfast, I would have to struggle through the day with hunger pains, and lack of focus. By this, I would sometimes fall asleep in class just to get over the pain.…
