High school seniors should be required to take classes that encompass subjects related to their majors in college. In order to do this, high school consular 's can talk to students and give them a list of classes that pertain to their majors. Classes such as electives, which normally are used to explore a certain subject, can also be used to gain knowledge about their fields. For example if a student wants to become an accountant he can take business related classes, or specifically take an accounting class to see if he would like to pursue that in college. If there are no classes pertaining to a students ' intended major, or if the student is undecided, he should be required to take a work-study class. While this condition is not proven real, many students acknowledge having it. The only way around it, is by making senior year grades count for their college application. If the students fear that colleges can revoke their acceptance, they will be motivated to try harder. In order to stop seniors from taking blow off classes they should increase the number of requirements for English, math and science classes. By doing so, students will continue to learn and keep up with the material. This will allow them to successfully learn these subjects during their freshman and sophomore years of college. Overall, there are many ways to make senior year more effective and prepare students for college. Requiring students to take more career-orientated classes and increasing general classes to reduce students from taking blow off classes will help make senior year more effective. In addition to improving their academic; students will improve their time management, responsibility, and take initiation because they will be given more freedom.
