In my Senior Project I am writing and informing people on sleep and how it can affect people's everyday life. Some additional background on paper from the help of Mr Genaro he is the AP Psychology teacher and in his class he studies the mind and how it works and he also studies human behavior and how we act around other people in different environments etc. I asked him a question on how the brain acts when we are asleep and he says that when we are asleep the mind is dreaming and we go through different phases when we are asleep. I remember him talking about how the brain goes through seven phases when it’s asleep and we have many dreams. I not only asked him about what the brain goes through when it’s asleep but I asked him when the person …show more content…
While I was doing so I had my friend get pictures of me handing them out so I had the evidence of me actually executing my Senior Initiative. So in the end of doing my senior initiative I think that it went really well and the people I had actually handed them out to couldn’t have handled it any better and having them be very cooperative helped me do it with more ease. I just think that the wrap up of it all went well and I though I executed my initiative pretty well. Now I know my initiative is supposed to be locally but globally for my global proposal I think that if people get more sleep they will feel better about themselves and other people will feel better around them. I believe that if people get more sleep people will healthier and they will have better moods and they will feel better just in general. I know that for me when I feel better I can get more done, I feel good, I’m a happier person and I have noticed that people around me feel good and are happier too because who wants to be around a grumpy mad person because I know that sure do …show more content…
Its pretty much common sense that people will be happier if they get a good night's rest and that people around you tend to copy what you do, so in essence they would be happier if you're happier and they might start to get more sleep if you start to do that as well. I expect that people will want to get more sleep and really change their lives and start to get healthier and get the proper amount of sleep that they need based on their age. It is crucial to get to bed early and get that amount of sleep because you will just feel better about yourself and you can live up to your full potential. I know that athletes need to get a good rest because when a person is tired during sports they can't help their team and they might actually bring them down so I cannot stress enough that getting the proper amount of sleep is so crucial to our lives. Especially getting sleep can make you feel better wich will make people around you feel better because nobody wants to be around a grumpy person in the morning they want to wake up to someone who is caring and happy and willing to

Many scientists all over the world have all attempted to explain the physiological and psychological effects of peoples sleep and dreams. In spite of this, up until this century and with few exceptions, everyone has always thought that while a person slept, their body and brain went into an inactive state. It wasn’t until 1928 when a German psychiatrist that goes by the name of Hans Berger discovered electrical activity inside of the human brain and distinguished differences in these rhythms when the patients were sleeping and when they were awake. It wasn’t until many years later that rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, or dream sleep as some call it, was described. When the convincing evidence of this was provided from studies that the brain is very much active during REM sleep and while certain areas or parts of the…

In my midterm self-assessment, I discussed how I thought I was among one of the unlucky ones that was not blessed with natural writing skills. However, through class discussions, I’ve learned that one of the most important competent of professional writing is the need for constant revision. Contrary to popular believe, writing does not come easy to anyone. In order to successfully produce professional writing, it is important that one plan, draft, revise, and edit his or her work.…

Eleven healthy, young adult men who voluntarily restricted their sleep to four hours per night for six days were in a pre-diabetic state by the end of the week. While we already knew that sleep is necessary for the brain, these findings on the benefits of sleep pushed sleep research into the deeper realm of potential medical problems. Benefits of Sleep: Weight A study that looked at nearly 1000 working adults in rural Iowa found that those who slept less had a higher BMI (Body Mass Index). The senior project kick-off made feel that I am going on the right path with my project, during the begging of the school year I didn't really know what to do with my project. As the year went on and doing my research paper, I got an idea of what I really want to do with my project and the main point of my project. Speaking in front of adults is a lot different from speaking to my fellow classmates because with your classmates your a lot comfortable speaking in front of them and used to being around them and speaking in front of them. Reflection When signing up to take the Final Project Course this fall I was extremely nervous and not excited to start. Walking into the first day of class and learning more about what the final project would entail, I did feel slightly better but still scared that it was going to be too overwhelming and hard to complete by myself. Luckily, the individual meetings and emails with my professor made everything much more clear and inviting. These final project meetings were very helpful in terms of receiving constructive criticism and then going back home to make changes to the paper.…
