Senior Project Reflection

Improved Essays
Senior project was quite the journey. I had ups and I had downs. To say the least, It was a rollercoaster. There was so much tedious work that I had to complete that stressed me out. On top of that, I am really really good at procrastinating my work. Alas, here I am, the day the portfolio is due, writing this reflection. This is definitely something I need to work on for my future in college. However, this project has helped me out in ways I could never have imagined.
The things I have learned during senior project is amazing. I was very hesitant to do my project on the evolution of the drum kit because I already knew a lot of information, and I wanted to learn something new. In fact, I chose this topic as a last resort. However, as I dug deeper in my research, I soon began to realize there was a lot more information than what I had previously known. For example, I did not know that drums originated in the Middle East; I always thought they originated in Africa. My mentor was able to point out some sources that were prime to my research. Not only did I learn about my topic, but I also learned some new things about myself.

However, I did not realize I was this bad. Honestly, it is a huge issue. I need to figure out a new system to getting things done. Of course, there had to be bad things about me that I had to learn, but there are some good things. For example, I learned that I can get things done quickly, and I can get them done correctly. This is in a way a blessing and a curse. It is good to know that I can work quickly, but it is also bad to know because it may feed into my procrastination issue. I will work to make sure that does not happen. On top of that, I learned that I can use decent organization skills. The two portfolios I had to make forced me to get organized. To say the least, I was successful, and I am happy with where I am

The idea behind my project is to show how the aphorisms were always running through Morrie's mind. I drew a silhouette of Morrie and filled it with aphorisms that stood out to me. I did this to show that Morrie, himself, came up with these aphorisms, and not someone else. Morrie used the aphorisms to teach and get a point across in a way that is easy to understand. My project is another tool to help get Morrie's many messages read.…

Final Exam Essay Prompt: Write about what, specifically, you are going to do with your new found knowledge. They say knowledge comes from experiences, and the experiences this past year have shed a different light on my world. Our actions are direct effects of the world surrounding us, causing every choice I now make to direct, and redirected by many of the recent things we have learned. From grammar rules to discussion points, and the words of our various authors, I have gained new perspective because each lesson has taught me something new, and often it was about myself even more so than the assignment.…

As the senior project comes to an end, I am truly excited about the benefit my influence has had on the community. My senior project was just another step to the legacy that I have implemented in Warren County. Thinking back to freshman year, senior project seemed so boring and far away. I never would have imagined the progress and success I've had with my senior project. My interest has stayed the same but I wouldn't think that I would have County Commissioners and a House of Representative present at my event.…

Since the first day, time has been flying really fast. Starting a fresh new day, meeting the same teachers and same old friends, I still cannot imagine that I am now a senior! In my senior year, there will definitely be a lot of challenges and obstacles for me to conquer, but I believe that as long as I do everything step by step, I can beat down the difficulties in this senior year. When I was in junior year, I often heard last year’s seniors told me how hard is it to come up with a senior project topic, and they kept on reminding me to start thinking of my topic and finding my mentors. Luckily, I had research method class last year, so I knew how to do my APA style references and I had many presentations experiences last year.…

Years ago at a staff meeting, the presenter distributed an article with an image of a group of teachers running in a pack ahead of a schoolhouse. My coworker doodled a stick figure on it, labeled it “Natalie,” and said, “Natalie, wait up! Slow down!” I chucked, but in the years since, I have been supporting and working with my colleagues instead of running ahead of them. When I was asked to complete a 20time project as part of SDSU EDL 680 Seminar in Personalized Learning taught by Jeff Heil, I selected a project that would benefit all of the invested adults of my school.…

My project began as a way for me to give back to the community in a way in which I could use my strengths to inspire and teach. Some of the reasons why I began my journey here at J. K. We as a class room still have a lot of work to do before the final portfolio.…
