For my Senior Project, I helped tutor a class of pre k students. I would help them with counting numbers correctly and identifying shapes. I started my project on January 11, 2015 and finished it on March 9, 2016. I spent approximately 27 hours on this project. My mentor was with me during every class so I spent approximately 27 hours with her too. My product was a short, 6 page booklet that had activities that the students could do. Dr. McCully helped me with my product by printing about 30 copies for me. I chose this project because as a child, i always had a hard time with numbers and shapes. I struggled a lot during my first few years of elementary school. By helping these kids, it will make me feel like I will have an impact on them in …show more content…
Also I wouldn't of tried as hard to get the students to participate in activities because sometimes they’re just tired or want to be alone. I also would have kept track of their improvement to see how much they have learned and what I could’ve worked on more. One of the biggest challenges I faced was when kids would cry or throw tantrums. Often times I would have to attempt to calm them down by talking to them, most times I would succeed, but when I didn't, my mentor would take over and cheer them up. In the beginning my product was supposed to be calculators for the kids, but then I decided to change it. I decided to make a little 6 six page booklet filled with activities which was much more convenient for me and for them. The most satisfaction I felt in the process of completing my project was when I gave my students the product I made. This was because when I was handing them out, they looked very excited and happy. A lot of the girl students finished them very fast and asked me if there was any more. Getting to know so many kids and bonding with them was the part of my project that I enjoyed the most. The most important skill that I have acquired during my senior project has to be working with children. I learned to always be patient with them no matter

Session five was a big stepping stone for me, I believe I asked questions that guided her and properly validated her feelings, not to mention my powerful use of silence during the whole session. This reflection will shift gears from how I originally lay out my reflections. I usually express the goals I said I would work on and then share the progress I made during the succeeding session. However, I shared my uncertainty about where to take our session after the last one. I believe this doubt helped session five unfold the way it did.…

Overall the experience both deepened my compassion practice and taught me about group mentee projects. This paper examines what I learned, discusses how I changed, and provides additional reflections on the project. There were three projects to choose from in our Spirituality of Leadership class. One option was to be a mentor with the intention of deepening the spiritual lives and practices of both the mentee and mentor.…

As the senior project comes to an end, I am truly excited about the benefit my influence has had on the community. My senior project was just another step to the legacy that I have implemented in Warren County. Thinking back to freshman year, senior project seemed so boring and far away. I never would have imagined the progress and success I've had with my senior project. My interest has stayed the same but I wouldn't think that I would have County Commissioners and a House of Representative present at my event.…

Hello and Welcome, Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to learn about me and my Senior Project. Senior Project is a year long project of our choosing. In the beginning of the year we are presented with the idea that we can pick any project we want as long as follows four main guidelines. We were told that our projects had to stretch our learning and had to be something new to us, the project had to be interesting enough to us to keep our attention, we had to spend a minimum of 30 hours on it, and we had to find an expert in that field to guide us. After weeks of thinking about it I finally landed on knitting.…

Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been. When I was a chubby little freshman with glasses I thought to myself that high school would be one of the longest time periods of my life and that four years would feel like forty years. But man was I wrong, high school went by in the blink of an eye.…
