Hello and Welcome,
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to learn about me and my Senior Project. Senior Project is a year long project of our choosing. In the beginning of the year we are presented with the idea that we can pick any project we want as long as follows four main guidelines. We were told that our projects had to stretch our learning and had to be something new to us, the project had to be interesting enough to us to keep our attention, we had to spend a minimum of 30 hours on it, and we had to find an expert in that field to guide us. After weeks of thinking about it I finally landed on knitting.
For my project I decided to learn the very basics of knitting. I planned on learning how to cast on and off, learning the differences between yarn types and needle sizes, and learning a few stitching and knitting methods. The first thing I did was some research on knitting. I

I would have liked to learn a few more stitching methods and experimented with different yarn types. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I had too many things going on and had to let this project fall behind. If I could do it all over again there are very few things I would choose to do differently. If I could I would start earlier and manage my schedule and stress levels better, and ask for help when I needed it. Asking for help has always been something I’ve struggled with, and this is just one scenario where my stubbornness has negatively affected me
Overall I really enjoyed the Senior Project process and learning how to knit. Although I didn’t get as far as I would like I still enjoyed learning about the culture and the history of knitting. This experience has taught me a lot about patients, maturity, tenacity, and has reminded me to appreciate life and everything in it. Once again I’d like to thank you all for following me through my knitting journey and I hope you like learning about me and my

I’ve always expressed myself through my art, whether it was through drawing, painting, or ceramics, and I always challenge myself to try new projects. The summer before sophomore year, I was scrolling through Pinterest for new ideas and stumbled upon pattern templates for friendship bracelets. Excited by this idea, I rushed out to buy supplies, and for the rest of the summer, I always had string in hand. By the end of the summer, I made more than I could ever wear alone and I was struck with an idea - donating my bracelets! I did research and discovered The Children’s Inn at NIH Thoughtful Treasures Program, in which it small gifts are given to children with life-threatening Illnesses staying at the hospital.…

My first project was about Al Capone and he was a super fun person to learn about. I wrote an essay and made a blueprint of the Alcatraz cell house. A cool fact I learned was that Al Capone was responsible for putting expiration dates on milk bottles. Figuring out the project process was a bit hard at first, but as time continued to move it got a lot easier. When you figure it out it gets a lot easier.…

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

Senioritis It was the second day of my senior year, my alarm clock starting going off and I looked over, with my eyes still trying to process what was going on, and it read 6:30 a.m. I rolled back over and put the covers over my head and fell back asleep. I realized that I was ill and senioritis had made its way to me and the symptoms were very clear. Senioritis is a disease that was finally established in the early 20th century, usually striking high school and college students causing: laziness, lack of studying, decline in motivation, repeated absences, dismissive attitude, and over wearing of sweats. The only cure for this disease is graduation.…

What do electives do for your child when you send them to school? NOTHING!!! When you send your kids to school in the morning all they do is there 3 main core classes and then they got to electives. Middle schools today should not make electives a part of a regular school day because it would help kids get better grades, schools would save money on less teachers, and kids wouldn't be as tired in the morning. As the senior project comes to an end, I am truly excited about the benefit my influence has had on the community. My senior project was just another step to the legacy that I have implemented in Warren County. Thinking back to freshman year, senior project seemed so boring and far away. I never would have imagined the progress and success I've had with my senior project. My interest has stayed the same but I wouldn't think that I would have County Commissioners and a House of Representative present at my event.…

Looking back, I realized that high school wasn’t as bad as I thought. Sure I had really bad days, but all of the good ones made up for it. I did Polynesian Club for two years; my freshman year and my senior year. I regret not dancing throughout high school, but I’m glad I still got to do it my senior year. It was mostly because I was already involved with theatre.…

For every decision one makes they have a person or an event to accredit as to why they were influenced to make that decision. Previously, I watched shows like Greys Anatomy and envisioned myself saving one’s life as a doctor myself someday. Sometimes what we want in life though is not what we need. The class senior forum helped open my eyes to this realization through a job shadow within that career pathway. I found that working with needles just was not for me.…

My project began as a way for me to give back to the community in a way in which I could use my strengths to inspire and teach. Some of the reasons why I began my journey here at J. K. This school year I enjoyed this English class because it was not very difficult, but it was not easy at all. This year we did so many assignments and some of them were analyzing poems, emulating poems, writing a theme of a poem, presenting a speech in class and then working as a group to create a chapter. I believe that I have grown throughout this school year. I have grown as a listener because back then I was not used to listening to poems without having a paper right in front of me.…
