Senior Project Essay

It was an extremely easy choice for me when we were told to pick our topic for the senior project. I immediately decided that I wanted to focus on the injustice that the elderly have been experiencing for quite some time now concerning depression and other mental illnesses. Researching and studying the causes and effects that elderly depression can have has truly been an eye opening experience. It has been fascinating seeing why psychologists and therapists have generally been glazing over the growing problem that is elderly depression. My path for this project has been a relatively smooth one. I have had a very little amount of bumps in the road and was able to discover a plethora of facts and statistics with the data base that the school …show more content…
Dr. Kerby, my interviewee, and the many new pieces of information that have been coming out in the recent years have far and away made the process of creating my project and granting me the knowledge in order to make a well rounded and factual presentation a rather simple one. While I would obviously love to say that my journey to getting where I am right now in the process of completing my project was all rainbows and unicorns, this would not at all be the truth. There were a couple obstacles that had to be overcome. For example, one of these obstacles was having trying to be on the same wavelength with Dr. Kerby. I had emailed her asking if an interview would be possible on the date I had given her, and she agreed to the time and date for a phone call. However, when I called her right when I told her I would do so, my phone rang until I was told to give a voicemail. I would go on to call for the next four days until she would eventually answer and partake in my interview. While I was happy that I was finally able to complete and transcribe my Interview, it had really thrown a wrench in my schedule for completing my project. If I were to have and do my project over again, I would most definitely allow a three to our day buffer period for getting into contact with the person that I would

I based my capstone project on a network upgrade and redesign project my company completed to update the local area network (LAN) from Gigabit Ethernet to Ten Gigabit Ethernet. The project was inspired by my company’s decision to virtualize its data center, update its physical security system, and expand its passenger processing system. All these technologies require a robust network to.... Additionally, the network firewalls were outdated and lacking security features that protects the network against current cyber threats. Obviously, I create a fictitious company to present the project in the paper.…

The area of my topic for my Capstone Project is the environment and the United States should stop the production of the North Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline is 1,172 miles long and it will transport 470,000 barrels of oil per day. The pipeline will begin in North Dakota, travel through South Dakota, and Iowa, and end in central Illinois. The pipeline will be placed through the Standing Rock Sioux land, which is in North Dakota, and the pipeline would affect their only water supply if the pipeline spills. I chose this area because the media doesn't show what is happening in North Dakota and I want people to be informed about what is going on in our country and stand with Standing Rock to end this battle.…

Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

Senioritis It was the second day of my senior year, my alarm clock starting going off and I looked over, with my eyes still trying to process what was going on, and it read 6:30 a.m. I rolled back over and put the covers over my head and fell back asleep. I realized that I was ill and senioritis had made its way to me and the symptoms were very clear. Senioritis is a disease that was finally established in the early 20th century, usually striking high school and college students causing: laziness, lack of studying, decline in motivation, repeated absences, dismissive attitude, and over wearing of sweats. The only cure for this disease is graduation.…

The person I decided to interview was Kristen McKenna, a registered nurse. I interviewed her over the phone since she resides in Maryland. I chose to interview her since she has the profession that resembled a physician assistant the most in comparison to others I could have contacted, plus I know her parents fairly well and knew I could easily get an interview with her. All of my contacts live in other states so unfortunately it was not possible for me to schedule a meeting with any of them. The specific questions I prepared were essentially the ones that were provided in the “Possible Questions to Ask During the Information Interview” section.…

As the senior project comes to an end, I am truly excited about the benefit my influence has had on the community. My senior project was just another step to the legacy that I have implemented in Warren County. Thinking back to freshman year, senior project seemed so boring and far away. I never would have imagined the progress and success I've had with my senior project. My interest has stayed the same but I wouldn't think that I would have County Commissioners and a House of Representative present at my event.…

She returned my phone call the next day and set up a time to meet her at the hospital during her lunch Thursday the 15th of October. We re-introduced ourselves because I had previously met when I was an intern at the hospital. We held our interview in one of the meeting rooms on the 4th floor of the hospital; which was an optimal setting becasue I had been in that room plenty of times, so had she, so the both of us were physically comfortable. The only thing that I have to say about the room is that because it’s on the actual hospital floor and not in the office building is that there can be some distractions from the nurses, patients, and doctors walking around. Allie and I didn’t use the normal interview opening, simply because we already knew eachother so we did a little catching up instead.…

This school year I enjoyed this English class because it was not very difficult, but it was not easy at all. This year we did so many assignments and some of them were analyzing poems, emulating poems, writing a theme of a poem, presenting a speech in class and then working as a group to create a chapter. I believe that I have grown throughout this school year. I have grown as a listener because back then I was not used to listening to poems without having a paper right in front of me.…
