When leading a team in the future as a leader or manager, I would use the McGregor Theory Y(McGregor, 1960), where I view my team as the most important people, allowing dynamic and flexibility in management. I would be a supportive leader who will give my team direction when needed to achieve our desired goal. Based on Tuckman Model, I would spent time doing up a charter consisting of clear purpose, goals and roles with my team to ensure everyone know what they are supposed to do. I had the privilege of interviewing Linda Evans, M.P.A., who serves as the coordinator of Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Program on the Yavapai College, Verde Valley Campus. SSS TRIO is a federally-funded program through the U.S. Department of Education by means of a competitive grant process. This program is designed to identify and support students who qualify by meeting two of the three requirements of the program. Qualifying conditions are they receive a Federal Pell Grant, have a documented physical or learning disability, or are a first generation college student. It is the City of Lakeland’s goal to provide a performance budgeting process that is clear, concise and priority-driven. When I think of delegating to other members of the health care team I get specifically think of the delegation an RN gives to CNA’s. I am concerned about the CNA rejecting what I am asking them to do and that they will not do what I ask properly or effectively. I also am concerned that they will resent me for making their job harder by giving them more tasks to do when they are already busy. I also struggle with the idea of the tasks that I should delegate to a CNA and deciphering between the things that I should just do on my own or to delegate to a CNA.
