New Experience

The senior interview was a unique and interesting experience. I have never done anything like it before. It was interesting seeing a senior’s (George’s) perspective. Due to this interview, how to succeed in high school was reiterated, I learned more about myself, and learned more about the interview process. I am now able to reflect on this encounter.

Overall, it was a fascinating experience to discuss with a senior and learn about their high school career. I expected myself to be nervous, but I was calm. The first question I asked him was, “Now that you are a senior, is there anything you wish you had known when beginning high school?” He basically said, grades are number one, they are the most important thing in school.

Good Afternoon Mr. Lanigan, The APS manual states that the AP interview is to begin with an “introduction and statement for the purpose for the interview”. There is no specific guidance as to when the allegations can be brought up or how you approach the allegations. I am curious to hear your critique of how our staff conducts their interviews of the AP. I am also looking forward to your training that will be much later this year.…

My seniors tried to figure out their next steps: were they technically seniors if they had lost a semester? Clarity was hard to find. But one of the greatest honors of my life was helping the two valedictorians—Thomas and Prince—write their graduation speeches. Never have there been so few dry eyes in an auditorium as there were for those first surviving seniors. I found myself challenged as a teacher, during this time, in ways that stretched me beyond what I thought I knew about teaching or about teenagers.…

Senioritis It was the second day of my senior year, my alarm clock starting going off and I looked over, with my eyes still trying to process what was going on, and it read 6:30 a.m. I rolled back over and put the covers over my head and fell back asleep. I realized that I was ill and senioritis had made its way to me and the symptoms were very clear. Senioritis is a disease that was finally established in the early 20th century, usually striking high school and college students causing: laziness, lack of studying, decline in motivation, repeated absences, dismissive attitude, and over wearing of sweats. It is important for managers to be good communicators, but it is also important for them to be organized and prepared for any outcomes that could happen in the future.…
