Senior Experience Reflection I was very effective at working with my senior adviser. The first meeting we had we talked about changing my topic from drug babies to genetic engineering and I made sure she approved it first. Also, in the first meeting I included my thoughts about where I wanted to job shadow. Again, before making anything final I let her approve where I decided to job shadow. Then, I told her I wanted to volunteer with special needs because that ties in with genetic engineering and she gave me ideas on who I could try to volunteer for. After that, I took her advice and I contacted the special education department for Lexington High School and I got a date set to volunteer at White Knoll High School for the special olympics. While completing my plan I faced several problems that I easily overcame. The first problem I came to was not being able to find a …show more content…
First, we were given a whole class period to find eight sources and determine how we could use them in our paper. After, we finished finding eight sources we completed an annotated bibliography. Next, we started the actual research paper and we were given a week to complete it. Every day in class we worked on a specific part of the paper. The first day, we worked on the introduction. The following day, we completed the counterclaim paragraph. We then wrote our body paragraphs the next three days and the final day we finished with the conclusion. After completing the entire research paper we were given two days to make sure we fixed minor details and prepare for the final copy. I chose my topic by going to the source Mrs. Bonnette provided my class and I made a list of all the topics I thought was interesting. Then, for each topic I tried to come up with a product and a company to job shadow. For those I could not find anything for, I eliminated them. After narrowing the topics down, I decided that genetic engineering was the topic I was most passionate

There was never a constant in the way that any two supervisors would approach the supervisory role.…
