Senior English Research Paper

This past senior year has not gone by very fast, but one class that seemed to always be on my mind was senior english. When I go back and think about all the things I have done this year, I am still amazed at all we did. Some of the things that the year could be divided into would be: the class, individual effort, and my advice for next year’s seniors. All in all, I would say that I have maintained being mediocre at writing papers throughout the year. All with the exception of grammar. One thing I really liked about first semester is we got to read The Great Gatsby. I seen the movie a couple times, and I really wanted to see what the book was like. We got to read it at our own pace for the most part. I liked that we were made to write a letter …show more content…
I can personally say the you should at least do every single assignment. If you do not then things will not look too good come the end of the year. Even if you know you will not give your best on some assignments, at least do them. Anything is better than a zero in the gradebook. My second bit of advice for first semester is to work on your grammar. Grammar comes into play too much later in the year, and if you neglect it thinking you can just correct your mistakes you are going to have a bad time. Second semester is a little lighter on the advice. All you need to worry about is the critical analysis and the occupational study. As you are reading your book for the critical analysis, you should be thinking about what event or part of that book you could base and entire paper on. You should read your book to completion early and start mapping out what part of the book that had the most going on. That way you have a lot of time to spend of getting it done. Getting done with your job shadow early and getting a headstart on the occupational study is the best thing you could possibly do for yourself at the end of the year. If you get done with your job shadow early, you can finish a couple parts of the occupational study before the project really

“Can you repeat that?” seemed to be the only phrase anyone asked me. Despite English being my first language, I did not advance as quickly as others in speech and in reading. Because i did not practice pronunciation as a child, there is nobody to blame for my speech impediment except myself. Therefore, when presented the opportunity to take an AP English class in my junior year, I did not hesitate to accept - the only way for me to improve my English was to undergo an arduous class and practice.…

Ungar, show how some of these perceptions are formed. He argues the many different views and opinions on how liberal arts compares to other fields of study and specifically ones that lead directly to a certain career path. Never the less it is finding its way back by being incorporated into the same career studies thought recently to be singularly better.…

First semester was was filled with the essentials of writing. The things you need to know how to do like using transition words or how to mimic your introduction in your conclusion. Using transition words is a skill we all learn in elementary school, but during first semester we revisited the idea. We improved our vocabulary of transitions and learn the importance of them. The first semester was full of trials that could have been prevented. Personally the first 9 weeks was easier than the second 9 weeks. I wasn’t so pleased with my last report card because I settled for average. During the first semester I forgot to turn some important, grade affecting, assignments in and sometimes I would forget to study for upcoming tests. Every now and then I would lack the motivation to even look at my school binder, but this new semester is a fresh start, and I plan on not settling for anything less than exceptional.…

I would say that I learned the most about what it really means to have time management after this semester. Entering my first semester of college I had blind faith in the University, and myself because I believe everything would just work out and I would pass because it was meant to be. However, fate and hope are no the things to help you life as a new college student. The drive to wake up, attend class, finish homework, and accept the new responsibility that had been placed in my novice hands diminished greatly as the non-academic temptations became to creep in my head. I must be honest with you and let you know that I did cave and willingly participate in the sweet release of social experiences.…

This was one of my first classes as a criminal justice minor, and if I weren’t already half way done with my sociology degree, I would totally switch to criminal justice. Every single class I have taken relating to the CJ system has been interesting and I actually want to attend class and read the material, which I’m not sure if I can say the same about sociology. One thing I think I did well in class was time management. There were a lot of weekly assignments and it could’ve been very easy to slip up and forget about one of them.…
