The Declaration of Sentiments and Resolution blatantly plagiarizes the the Declaration of Independence because the women sought to grasp the men’s attention. Amongst the few was abolitionist Frederick Douglas. Douglas reasons for attending the Seneca Falls Convention was due to the fact he believe in equal rights of all citizens, no matter the ethnic background or gender. He was invited by Elizabeth M’Clintock on July of 1848, after meeting through the Western New York Anti-Slavery Society from which Douglas was associated with. This heavy relationship between abolitionist movements and the women’s rights movement was crucial for both factions. Their influence created a noticeable impact amongst Americans, which would eventually lead to a major turn-around. This relationship would not surprisingly cause the two to be natural allies since they both fought for equal rights. Women fought to abolish slavery, which would further support black abolitionist, but being that women did not have a voice, they would need the support from not only women but men as well. I believe that Douglas sought to help the women’s movement for they would play a crucial role in helping resolve the issue of
